The Adventures of Shrinking Erin


The WHAT & WHY ?
It is the beginning of something, both exciting and terrifying.
What does this mean? Shrinking Erin? This is the year that it happens.
I am going to to take back my health and my piece of mind.
I am going to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes to get my body in shape.
I have always been a "curvy" girl and made no apologies for it. I am very happy and comfortable in my own skin. But I am tired, and feel out of shape. I want energy, and toned arms!
Is that so much to ask? I think not!
I am so excited!

WHEN ?:
Start date: December 30th 2011 End date: It will never really end, but the hypothetical end will be one year from now December 30th 2012

WHAT ELSE ?:
I will NOT post my weight! I don't want the skeptics to look at the number and think, how is she going to do this??? I will post those numbers at the end!
I will try to post measurements along the way, but more importantly, brave soul that I am....
I WILL post pictures! I will post pictures at least once a month. Maybe more.
I will post anything and everything that relates until you tell me not to.

HOW???
To get this body really moving:
I will be frequenting the gym 3-5 days a week. Yoga or Hot Yoga 1-2 times a week, possibly more if my budget allows. I will supplement all of that with outdoorsy fun, fun classes at the gym, swimming, whatever I can get! Workouts with the girls (you know who you are.)

As for the other part of the equation, Healthy Eating! Yay!:
I have no real plan as of yet, it's in the works... this is what I'm thinking
Lots of Veggies, Fruit
Chicken, Fish and Ground Turkey, Protein
Yogurt, Cheese, Eggs, Soy Milk, (cutting out milk)
Little or no sugar. Sugar in my coffee when needed, the odd dessert and a piece of chocolate..indulgence is sometimes necessary to maintain sanity.
and last but not least, sadly I cannot eat Gluten (wheat, flour, or wheat based products)
So bread is out! But I will have Gluten Free Pasta, Cereal and Rice!
Breaking news: The healthy eating part has already started. To the gym tomorrow!

TA DA!
So those are the ABC's of this adventure! I'm beyond excited!
I love myself, and I love my life, I am doing this for me! I want to be healthy, and energetic!

I am loving me this year.

It has occurred to me that no one may read this at all and that's okay. I am writing this for me too.
I hope someone reads it, and takes something from it. This is how Ï am keeping myself accountable!
I will cross my fingers for readers!
